Subject:
Rear roof frame attachment, welded U-fitting, connection at B- and C-Strut
Affected:
all aircraft of the type IKARUS C42
Reason:
Both flanges of one of the U fittings welded to the roof frame were found to have
broken on one IKARUS C42 aircraft.Leichtflugzeuge

Action:
- Visual check for cracks in the vicinity of the flange roots of the U fitting. Pos.1
- Check M8 bolt, Pos. 2 for proper fitting. Torque 20-25 Nm
- If necessary, replace roof frame
Compliance:
Check before the next flight
Include into the 50 hour inspection
Mass and balance:
no alteration
Accomplishment:
Action should be accomplished by a qualified person.
Should the defect described above occur, the aircraft is no longer airworthy and may
only be flown once the appropriate action has been taken to restore airworthiness.
